Q-110: Dr. Doolittle's May Menagerie
Well, you said last time that you were going to go out and embrace the world-- and baby-- you embraced it! A month (and a half) so jam-packed with action and adventure that you're a whole 2 weeks late with your phlog (that's a photoblog for the uninitiated), and have a plethora of different subjects to cover from your photographic adventures. All of which begs the question: Where to Begin?
Why... at the beginning of course!
May started with a BANG! Storms and rain and floods, ohmy! After rescuing one small kitten at the end of April, May brought it and it's brothers/sisters to the surface on the back deck. You and the Fairy Godmother make an executive decision: the kittens must be saved. You carefully bring the cuddly bundles into the garage as the FGM wrestles in the reluctant mama cat. Together you get the 5 cats situated in an old giant birdcage and start providing food and water and a litter box for them to share.
Pictures are taken, naturally, to aid in the adoption process once they are old enough to be fixed and separated from their mother.

Of course, capturing these bundles of joy requires special patience, a fast shutter speed, and occasionally-- a hand in the final shot. And is usually the case with a litter, there is one naturally photographic kitty who is just glad for the attention.

Aside from new-kitten antics, you've enjoyed watching your own animals be silly and loving... and remembering how once upon a time you considered yourself "anti-cat." Looking at your life now, surrounded by feline friends you wonder how on earth you survived for so many years without such wonderful companionship.

As usual, you've also had a handful of "wild" animal encounters consisting mostly of the occasional bug... be it in the car or on a dandelion.

And what month is complete without a friend's pup sacked out by the pool. Isn't that was spring and summer are about? Playing until you're so exhausted that the only thing to cure it is a nap by the pool...

And to be honest, after all the running around these last 6 weeks that's pretty much how you feel too. Happy, satisifed, satiated, loved, but ready for your nap by the pool.
